Ahead of AAP Rally, Thousands Of Protesters Stopped At Chandigarh Border

CHANDIGHAR : Thousands of workers of Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) were stopped from entering Chandigarh, where they planned to protest outside Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s home.Buses carrying AAP protesters were stopped outside the city, the party said, adding that the state government had warned transporters against giving buses to the protesters.

Police presence was increased as the party’s workers were seen ripping up posters and destroying banners of the government.AAP had organized the protest to highlight what it called the Parkash Singh Badal government’s failure to check the menace of drugs, mafia and corruption.Punjab will hold elections next year.
